Suchitoto Educational Programs-Existing Programs

The private non-profit university scholarship and loans programs of Suchitoto invite you to invest in the post-high school education of the youth of Suchitoto

The existing programs, as of 2008, are:

Palo Alto Friends Meeting-Provides interest free loans to about 15 youth from the rural high schools studying in the public National University of El Salvador (UES) and the technical school, the ITCA. It is funded by the Palo Alto Friends Meeting and other friends in the US and was established in 1999.

CRC-Atlanta Friends Meeting-Aids 9 youth mostly in the
UES for youth living in the communities associated with the CRC, a local Salvadoran community organization. The program was established in 2003 and provides interest free loans.

Parroquial Scholarship Committee-Aids 19 youth with partial scholarships of $500/year. Funding comes from contributions by members of the Suchitoto Catholic Parish of Santa Lucia and a private donor. It is open to all high school graduates in Suchitoto and started in 2004.
